Richard Simard has 20 plus years as a Licensed Journeyman Wireman with an additional 9 years as an Industrial/Commercial Electrical & Special Systems Contractor. Richard served as Treasurer on the Board of Directors at the National Electrical Contractors Association. Contracting with local and state Public School and University Facility Authorities, he is experienced with the jurisdictions that mandate specific Electrical installation requirements.
Dirk Coffman was an integral part of the Albuquerque Sunport construction as a Project Manager for the Masthead International Company. He was responsible for the supervision of twenty Journeymen. Dirk has been in the Electrical Industry for over 30 years. He is a versatile member of our team; estimating, supervising and safety skills are just a few of the assets he brings to our organization.
Chris Crum is our primary Programmer and Low Voltage Technician. He has been in the business for 8 years and handles our major, high security contracts such as Aircraft Service International Group and Iron Mountain. Chris maintains his OSHA 30 and is certified to work on and near railways. He has been with SES since it’s inception, always dependable and always flexible, Chris is an invaluable and trusted member of the Simard team.
Becky Carsten, our Controller, has over 20 years in Business Finance and Management. Highlights from her career include 7 years as Director of Operations for Vision Service Plan of AZ, 13 years as Controller at Manheim Auto Auctions, and more recently, 3 years as Controller for Yearout Mechanical. Becky earned her Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from The College of Santa Fe. Her high level of expertise and knowledge in the financial arena, coupled with her exceptional communication skills, are integral to the continued growth of Simard Electric Services.
Seth McBurney has over 18 years of Industrial/Commercial electrical experience. He is the primary electrician for the maintenance and repair of the mechanical control systems at various major accounts. Seth maintains his OSHA 10 card and is trained extensively in CAT 5 wiring, fire and alarm systems and security.
Gene Redvelski has 37 years in the Electrical Industry. A valued and respected member of our team, Gene has several specialties and extra training including; confined space, wireman, OSHA 10 and welding. Gene is also trained to do high voltage work and is a certified miner. In addition to his multitude of electrical skills, Mr. Redvelski is also able to operate large machinery such as bucket trucks, back hoes and digger derricks.
John Ivey has over 33 years experience in the Electrical Industry. He is certified in CAT5 and Fiber Optics training. John maintains his OSHA 10 card and has completed manhole training. Mr. Ivey was our Project Manager for the UNM Audio/Visual Classroom Modernization project for both the main and west campuses. This project entailed upgrading over 130 classrooms with new audio/visual equipment and wiring and was successfully completed in a short amount of time without disruption to faculty and students.
Thomas Garcia is our in-house Electrical Engineer. Thomas graduated from UNM with a BS in Electrical Engineering and spent 4 years at Los Alamos National Labs as an Intern. In that position, he worked with the induction heating team learning laboratory procedures, lockout, tagout and ladder logic. Here at SES, Thomas fills a variety of roles in the areas of estimating, project management and project design. He has had a major role on priority accounts such as APS, UNM, KAFB, Bernalillo County and New Mexico state projects. Proficient in all aspects of IT, Thomas has proven to be an invaluable asset to SES. The entire team appreciates his ability to multitask and his willingness to do whatever it takes to bring a project to successful completion.
Ron Carter is our NICET IV Certified Special Systems Manager. He comes to us with over 20 years experience in the Electrical Industry with a focus on Fire Alarm System Design, Access Control, CCTV and Security. His certifications include NICET IV, OSHA 10, FCI, AES Wireless Radio Systems, UL, Ansul (R102 Vehicle Systems), Kidde (FM-200, NOVEC-1230, Argonite, FE-13, CO2, Aries and Aiges Controls and NEC Class. Ron leads our Special Systems Division and it is the combination of his exceptional skills and expertise that enable Simard Electric to seamlessly serve our valued customers' best interests.
Stacey Phelan, our Office Manager, has worked with major school districts for 25 years. Most notably during her 15 year career at Scholastic, Inc. Stacey's knowledge of relationship management at all levels within school systems, and her impressive track record in new business development, support all of us at Simard Electric as we look to develop and grow our business.
